Bodega Juan García Jarana

Save to my lists

About the winery

A textbook almacenista: some three hundred butts of fino, amontillado and oloroso that Juan García-Jarana ages almost as a hobby and gives away mostly among friends and business partners. From a solera of his, thirty-eight butts strong, comes the Pata de Gallina oloroso bottled by Lustau — a wine that traces back to the old Quijano house, gone since the late fifties.

Designations of origin

DO Jerez-Xérès-Sherry · Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda

View wineries →

The designation of origin for the fortified wines of the Marco: fino, manzanilla, amontillado, palo cortado, oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, moscatel and cream. It covers ageing under flor and the criaderas y soleras system, and only wineries registered with the Consejo Regulador may use it.

Wines

This house does not bottle under its own name: it ages the wine and it reaches the market under other bodegas’ labels, as is the custom among the region’s almacenistas.
