Tinto palette: garnet of the sierraAbout the winery
A small bodega on the El Canchal Alto estate, on the northern slope of the Sierra de Grazalema, set up to give Algodonales back the wine it once had. It only makes the grapes from its 2.2 hectares of limestone marl: reds from Syrah, Garnacha, Cabernet and Petit Verdot. It is not open to the public.
It was started by the agronomist and winemaker Roberto Salas Pino. He planted in 2003, finished the bodega inside an old cortijo in 2006 and released his first vintage, three thousand bottles, in 2007. The red Galestro is named after the rock beneath the vines, and Petitta, a straight Petit Verdot, sold out its first vintage of 1,200 bottles in four months.
