About the winery

The Las Bóvedas bodega, Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros's, holds only a hundred and twenty-five six-hundred-litre butts, given over to VORS wines and old brandies: a palo cortado, an amontillado, an oloroso and the fino Atávico. Next door is the Salón de Cuerdas, with more than four hundred eighteenth- and nineteenth-century instruments gathered over forty years — one of the most important collections in Europe — and an ethnographic museum of over eleven hundred pieces from the Jerez countryside.

View wineries →

The designation of origin for the fortified wines of the Marco: fino, manzanilla, amontillado, palo cortado, oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, moscatel and cream. It covers ageing under flor and the criaderas y soleras system, and only wineries registered with the Consejo Regulador may use it.

Wines

Amontillado Espinosa de los Monteros

A limited-edition Amontillado, in a quarter where the flamenco of Jerez is still alive.

Fino Atávico

The Fino of a Plazuela house that bottles in very short runs: just one hundred and twenty-five casks in Las Bóvedas.

Oloroso Espinosa de los Monteros

A dry, broad Oloroso, aged without flor in a house that began in 1884 as Bodegas Sol.

Palo Cortado Espinosa de los Monteros

The house’s dearest wine and the hardest to make: an Amontillado nose over an Oloroso body.
