About the winery

A small historic winery, a pioneer as the first house in Jerez run entirely by women: Pilar Plá Pechovierto kept it alive for over four decades.

Founded in 1830 by master cooper José Antonio Sierra. From 1976 until her death in 2020, Doña Pilar Plá Pechovierto ran the winery after being widowed, resisting pressure to sell it and obtaining in 1997 the first bottling licence granted to an almacenista house. Today it is continued by her daughter, María del Carmen Borrego Plá.
