About the winery

One of the few historic bodegas still standing in El Puerto, known locally as Las 7 Esquinas. It stayed in the same family from 1841 and aged fino, amontillado, oloroso, moscatel, Pedro Ximénez and cream through criaderas and soleras. It closed by October 2024 at the latest, when the owner himself declared it final.

It was founded in 1841 by Edmundo Grant Falconell, one of the British families that turned El Puerto into the Marco’s shipping port for wine. It began as an almacenista — ageing wine and despatching it to the big exporting houses — and that was its life for generations. It left the Consejo’s register after 2021, and it is not known who took its soleras or its brands.
